November 19th was the International Men's Day, and while that's the day when we should cherish our loved ones it is also an opportunity to address some serious issues such as toxic masculinity.
Let's take a look into ways that toxic masculinity affects the male sex as a whole. Toxic masculinity is an issue affecting quite a lot of people. It involves the idea that a "real man" has to be dominant and strong. A common concept of toxic masculinity is that crying and showing emotion signifies weakness. This is just one example of the harm these stereotypes can cause, forcing boys to become unstable and unable to deal with emotions. It also inclines boys towards getting into fights instead of talking a problem out calmly.
As we were approaching international men's day, there were certain media trends with boys wearing untraditional clothing in order to show that your style doesn't define your masculinity and that your masculinity doesn't define who you are.
