At the end of November, Alice (Y11) Mari-Elena (Y10), Rosalie (Y12), Jack (Y13) and Mikael (Y13) took part in the annual ISP Model United Nations conference. This conference lasted 3 days, from Friday 26th to Sunday 28th.

As the conference took place online, via Zoom, some of our delegates came to school over the weekend while others participated from home. For some of our delegates, this was their first MUN conferences - their debut into a world of immersive debate on current, pressing topics such as the Situation in South Sudan or Human Rights Violations in Refugee Camps.
The conference included students from ISP Schools around the world, from Mexico to Malaysia, making this a truly international experience.
The feedback received from our school’s delegates was widely positive - specifically about how supportive and capable the Chairs (judges and facilitators of the MUN debate) were. Three days of intensive debate is obviously a tiring and rather draining experience, so Model United Nations is not for everyone. But for true delegates, the benefits of MUN - the intellectual stimulation, the adrenaline rush, the ability to temporarily transform yourself into a world leader - far outweighs the downsides.
