The beginning of the school year has its downsides - you have to get used to waking up early, for one - but few would disagree that otherwise, it really is one of the best times of the year. This is a time when everyone is full of energy and enthusiasm, exams seem miles away, and the excitement overshadows the exhaustion. It tends to be the perfect time to begin new projects, meet new people and try new things.

It also tends to be the time that a number of new initiatives spring up. One of these this year is ‘The Garden’, a beautiful new study and reading area that replaced the library. This place seems to be exploding with potential, with lunchtime clubs starting up and new books arriving. It is also worth mentioning that many, many clubs are now available during and after school, ranging from sports to debating to drama. Soon enough, homework will pile on, exams will loom closer and the school year will be truly underway. But for now, while you can, unleash your creativity and enjoy yourself to the fullest!
