Blue Moon

This Halloween, not only was there a full moon, but a low, giant blue moon lit up the sky on the night of the 31st! This was also a special night for astronomers as this was the first full moon to appear on Halloween all over the world since 1994. A blue moon occurs when there are two full moons in the same month. This happens around every 2 and a half years, but for it to fall on Halloween is truly a once in a blue moon occurrence!
