Year 11 is currently faced with the tough task of choosing their A-Level options, but Mikael Arutyunov, Y12, shares some advice to help settle some of their doubts.

“Regarding exams, I advise everyone to try to learn all you can during lessons, ask your teachers any questions you have, and do many past paper questions,” explains Mikael.
A-Levels may seem all stress and suffering, but there are positive things about them too: "A major advantage of A-Level is that you can concentrate solely on the subjects that you are interested in - your chosen subjects. Having more independence and responsibility can be enjoyable and good preparation for your future.”
Mikael’s two favourite subjects are Biology and Chemistry. “What I enjoy about Biology is that I find a large part of the content interesting and also useful in real life; Chemistry is quite different- there is less theory and more logical connections. I like using logic and deductions to find the right answer.”
Good luck to Y11 in their transition!
