ISP Chess Tournament

On the 18th of March, the Laude Lady Elizabeth School participated in an online chess competition (on https://lichess.org) organised by the International Schools Partnership. The tournament consists of 3 rounds, with a total of 48 teams participating.

Out of 12 teams in the European regional tournament (part of the 1st round), our senior and junior teams achieved 5th and 9th place, respectively. Regrettably, neither of our teams progressed to the semi-final round, as only the best 3 teams in each regional tournament advanced, but our teams’ performances were certainly worthy of credit! Moreover, the tournament was a highly enjoyable event which tested and sharpened our players’ chess skills.

We hope that this event will help to promote the continuation and expansion of our school’s chess culture.
