Storm Filomena

Unexpectedly cold weather and a truly disastrous storm passed through Spain. The consequences of Storm Filomena have been devastating, primarily affecting the landlocked areas of the country. In the Valencian Community, several municipalities experienced some snow accompanied by violent gusting winds.

Meanwhile, Madrid witnessed the heaviest snowstorm of the past 50 years, paralyzing the Spanish capital for numerous days. Businesses and schools were closed, and roads were blocked. Tragically, three deaths occurred, whilst over 30,000 individuals were left without electricity.
